Cross leads Track & Field at Concordia Red, White, and Blue Track Classic
The Defiance men's and women's track and field teams traveled north to Michigan on Friday evening to compete in the Concordia Red, White, and Blue Track Classic. Freshman Traci Cross had an outstanding performance at the event, setting the second-fastest time in school history in two events.

The Defiance men's and women's track and field teams traveled north to Michigan on Friday evening to compete in the Concordia Red, White, and Blue Track Classic. Freshman Traci Cross had an outstanding performance at the event, setting the second-fastest time in school history in two events.
The Basics
- The event was hosted by Concordia University Ann Arbor at Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti, Mich.
- No team scores were recorded.
Notable Performances
- Cross became only the second woman in school history to record a time under eight seconds in the 60-meters. Cross placed fourth in the event with a personal best time of 7.97 seconds. School record holder Micah Wilson is the only person with a faster time than Cross with her record time of 7.87 seconds which was set in 2014.
- Cross also recorded the second-fastest time in school history in the 200-meters with a time of 26.44 seconds, earning her third place at the meet. The record in that event (26.09 seconds) is also held by Wilson from the 2014 season.
- In the men's 60-meters junior Ja'Qway Janvier finished in fourth place with a time of 7.15 seconds. Janvier also placed eighth in the 200-meters with a time of 23.18 seconds.
- In the women's 800-meters freshman Alexandria Ausmus placed seventh with a time of 2:34.01.
- In the men's 800-meters sophomore John Reese set a new personal best with a time of 2:07.41 while finishing 10th. Reese also placed 10th in the mile with a time of 4:41.50.
- Senior Lisa Markau set a new personal best in the 200-meters with a time of 27.33 seconds, placing 11th.
- The women's 4x400 relay team of senior Katelyn Smith, Cross, Ausmus, and Markau finished sixth with a time of 4:32.40.
