Castillo, Jackson Lead DC at the HCAC Championships
CINCINNATI, OHIO - The Defiance College men's track & field team wrapped up the outdoor season on Saturday afternoon as they competed at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Mount St. Joseph.
CINCINNATI, OHIO - The Defiance College men's track & field team wrapped up the outdoor season on Saturday afternoon as they competed at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Mount St. Joseph.
The Purple and Gold saw several athletes post strong performances with senior Javier Castillo winning the discus and garnering all-HCAC honors in the event with a season-best toss of 45.24 meters.
Sophmore Vince Jackson reigned as high jump champion as he won the event with a height of 1.89 meters.
In the 400-meter run, sophomore Gabriel Caris garnered a third place finish with a time of 50.53 earning all-HCAC honors.
Sophomore Spencer Ross found success in the javelin with a heave of 46.28 meters, while sophomore Cody Drumm-Turner finished eighth in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 12.15 meters.
Senior Justin Bergquist claimed an eighth place finish in the shot put with a distance of 12.48 meters, while also finishing ninth in the hammer throw. Senior Addrew Fahler captured a seventh place finish in the event while Bergquist took ninth.
