Members of Men's Track Team Complete HCAC Championships
NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. -- Members of the Defiance College men's track & field team traveled to North Manchester, Ind. to complete the final two events of the 2017 Outdoor Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on the campus of Manchester (Ind.) University.
NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. -- Members of the Defiance College men's track & field team traveled to North Manchester, Ind. to complete the final two events of the 2017 Outdoor Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on the campus of Manchester (Ind.) University.
The remaining events included the javelin and 10,000-meter run that were postponed due to weather during the previous two days of the championships.
The Yellow Jackets only had competitors in the javelin where sophomore Justin Bergquist (Cincinnati/Northwest) was the top finisher at 18th place following a best throw of 114' 8.00".
As a team, Defiance finished in ninth place of 10 teams with 13 points. Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology was first with 250.5 points, followed by Anderson (Ind.) University with 116 points. Bluffton University rounded out the top-three with 103 points.
Defiance is next scheduled to compete in the North (Ill.) Central College Gregory Invitational on Saturday, May 13. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. in Naperville, Ill.
