DC Men Compete in Northwest Ohio Invitational

FINDLAY, OHIO - The Defiance College men's track and field team traveled to Findlay for the Northwest Ohio Inviational hoste by The University of Findlay. The meet was unscsored.
The top overall individual finish in the running events was turned in by freshman Vincent LaMonte (Norwalk) who placed 28th in the 200-meter run with a time of 24.67 seconds.
Leading the way in the field events, sophomore James Baranoski, Jr. (Bloomingdale, Mich./Bloomingdale) placed 16th in the shot put after posting a best throw of 42' 08.25". Fellow sophomore Javier Castillo (Nogales, Ariz./Nogales) also placed in the top-20 in the event with a toss of 41' 06.00" placing him 18th overall.
In the men's weight throw, Castillo placed 17th with a throw of 47' 06.25". Just behind Castillo, junior teammate Joshua Petro (Ocala, Fla./The Villages) finished in 18th place with a mark of 45' 07.00".
The Yellow Jackets will next travel to Tiffin, Ohio to compete in the Tiffin University Invitational next Saturday (Jan. 21). The start time for the meet has yet to be determined.
