Men Finish Seventh at Marv Frye Invitational
DELAWARE, OHIO - The Defiance College men's track and field team finished seventh at the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware. The Yellow Jackets earned a total of 13 points.

The top individual performances in the running events included junior Jacob Rindler (St. Henry) who finished eighth in the men's 800- meter run with a time of 2:00.96.
In field events, freshman James Baranoski Jr. (Bloomingdale, Mich./Bloomingdale) finished 12th in the men's shot put event. He threw a distance of 36' 11.75".
Sophomore Joshua Petro (Ocala, Fla./The Villages) finished 11th in the discus throw with a toss of 116' 10.00". Freshman Andrew Fahler (Wellington) placed 16th with a distance of 108' 9.00" and freshman Justin Bergquist (Cincinnati/Northwest) rounded out the DC competitors in the event with a toss of 102' 3.00" which was good enough for 18th place.
Petro also competed in the hammer throw and led the Jackets with a fourth-place finish following a toss of 146' 7.00". Junior Joseph Carpenter (Rootstown/St. Thomas Aquinas) finished 10th with a toss of 133' 4.00" and freshman Javier Castillo (Nogales, Ariz./Nogales) came in 12th place and had a throw of 122' 5.00".
Completing the list of top marks in the field events for the Yellow Jackets was Fahler who finished 15th in the javelin throw with a toss of 86' 3.00".
Defiance will return to Deleware, Ohio on Saturday, April 16th to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Championships. Start time for the meet is scheduled for noon.
