Yellow Jackets Open Up Indoor Season Hosting Bluffton
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College men’s track and field team opened up their indoor season hosting Bluffton University, but fell to the Beavers with a final score of 76-57.
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College men's track and field team opened up their indoor season hosting Bluffton University, but fell to the Beavers with a final score of 76-57.
Defiance was led by senior Troy Parrett (Cedarville) who had two first place finishes for the morning. Parrett crossed the line first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.93 seconds and the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.05 seconds.
Senior Andrew Senecal (North Baltimore) crossed the finish at the 4:55.30 mark in the one mile run finishing two seconds over the second place finisher.
The final first-place finish for the Yellow Jackets came from sophomore LaVauntez Hall (East Cleveland/Shaw). After four attempts, Hall jumped the distance of 5.72 meters to take home the first-place finish.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Friday, Jan. 16 when they travel to Findlay, Ohio to compete in the Northwest Ohio Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
