Yellow Jackets Picked Fifth in HCAC Poll
GREENWOOD, IND. – The Defiance College men’s indoor track and field team was selected to finish fifth, in a preseason poll of the ten Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference head coaches.
GREENWOOD, IND. – The Defiance College men's indoor track and field team was selected to finish fifth, in a preseason poll of the ten Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference head coaches.
Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology received unanimous first place votes with all ten votes going in their favor for 100 points. Defiance was given 56 points for the fifth-place spot.
The Yellow Jackets finished last year's indoor season in fifth place at the HCAC Championship. Defiance returns senior Troy Parrett (Cedarville) who was one of three Yellow Jackets to take home a first place finish in the championship meet last year.
Parrett was named to the HCAC "Players to Watch List" for Defiance, along with fellow seniors Ryan Johnston (Defiance/Ayersville) and Jacob Rodriguez (Ligonier, Ind. / West Noble).
The Purple and Gold return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24 when they host the Defiance College Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
