Six Yellow Jackets Named to All-HCAC List

Freshman Darius Spinks (Washington, Pa./Washington) led the way with being named Most Outstanding Male Freshman Athlete and an All-HCAC selection. Sophomore Jacob Rindler (St. Henry) was placed on the second-team All-HCAC list. Sophomore LaVauntez Hall (East Cleveland/Shaw), senior Ryan Johnston (Defiance/Ayersville) and senior Sebastian Rue (Defiance/Ayersville) all were recognized by being placed on the honorable mention All-HCAC team. Rounding out the honors, sophomore Colin Krick (Hicksville/Antwerp Local) was placed on the HCAC All-Sportsmanship team.
Spinks earned the title of HCAC Champion in the 60-meter dash in a HCAC and school-record time of 6.90 seconds. Spinks went on to finish second in the 200-meter dash (22.32 seconds) and third in the long jump event (22' 3.75").
Rindler finished runner-up at the HCAC Championships in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.99.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 28 when they travel to Anderson, Ind. to compete in the Fred Wilt Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
