Eight Yellow Jackets Named All-HCAC
GREENWOOD, IND. – The Defiance College Yellow Jacket men's and women's outdoor track & field teams placed eight athletes on the All-Conference Teams when the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference released its list of honorees.

Freshman Darius Spinks (Washington, Pa./Washington) led the way with not only being named to the All-HCAC Team, but also being named Freshman of the Year. He was awarded the honor after he won the 200-meter dash with a 21.92 and placing second in the 100-meter dash at the HCAC Championships.
Junior Eme Miller (Portland, Ind./Jay County) and freshman Hannah Williams (Swanton) joined Spinks as the other two Yellow Jackets named All-HCAC. Miller won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an 11:48.86 for her to be named to All-HCAC. Williams threw the discus 38.26 meters to take the victory in that event. With the win, she was placed on the All-HCAC Team.
Sophomore Jacob Rindler (St. Henry), freshman Aaron Schwarzbek (Sherwood/Fairview), and senior Jacob Rodriguez (Ligonier, Ind./West Noble) all earned second-team All-HCAC honors. Rindler was placed there with his performance in the 800-meter run after posting a time of 1:58.42 and placing second overall. Schwarzbek by way of the high jump with a second place finish clearing the bar at a heighth of 6' 4" and Rodriguez in the hammer throw who also placed second in the event with a distance of 161' 11".
In addition, junior Jessie Bell (West Salem/Northwestern) and freshman Diego Sanchez (Kissimmee, Fla./Celebration) were placed on the All-Sportsmanship Team by the HCAC.
