DC finish 11th in the All-Ohio Championships
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC Track and Field Team took a trip to Otterbein University to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC Track and Field Team took a trip to Otterbein University to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The men had three individuals score points for them and finished 11th out of 19 teams at the meet.
Troy Parrett (Cedarville, Ohio / Cedarville) and Joe Davis (Ontario, Ohio / Ontario) both picked up a first place finish for DC and a school record was even broken.
Davis owns the new DC record in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 15:14.48. Along with setting the DC record, he also picked up the win and 10 points.
Parrett also got a win for the Yellow Jackets. In the 800-meter race, he finished with a time of 1:55.69 on his way to picking up the victory. With the win, Parrett also defended his title, as he was the 800-meter race champion from last year.
In the field, Anthony Nolfi (Akron, Ohio / Ravenna Southeast) also put up points for the Yellow Jackets. In the weight throw, Nolfi threw for a distance of 15.40 meters. With the throw, he captured seventh place and two points.
The DC men finished with 22 total points, which was good enough for 11th place.
DC will be in action again next week in the HCAC Indoor Championships. The meet, that takes place at Anderson, Ind., is set for a 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 22.
