Joe Davis (Ontario, Ohio / Ontario), Micah Wilson (Mims, Fla. / Astronaut), and Margaret Sarfino (Dayton, Ohio / Kettering Fairmont) are the three individuals that received the honor.
The three athletes, along with the rest of the DC Track and Field Team, traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invitational.
Davis earned a pair of first place finishes at the Early Bird Invitational. The senior won the 1,500-meter race with a time of 4:01.64 and was a member of the first place 1,600-meter relay team (3:24.32). Both performances are first in the HCAC this spring and rank among the top 21 in NCAA Division III. Davis also earned a second place finish in the 800-meters (1:57.98) at the meet.
Wilson won two events to lead the Jackets to a team title at the Early Bird Invitational Saturday. The freshman won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at the meet. Wilson's time of 25.93 in the 200-meter dash currently is the fastest in the HCAC and the 10th fastest time in NCAA Division III this spring.
Sarfino turned in a record breaking performance in the triple jump. The freshman dominated the triple jump with a winning mark of 11.04 meters, earning first place by over a full meter. The effort smashed the DC school record and is currently a top 10 mark in NCAA Division III this outdoor season.
Davis, Wilson, Sarfino, and the rest of the DC Track and Field Team will be back in action at home this Saturday for the Dick Small Invitational. The start time is set for 11 a.m.
