Postema hurled a distance of 54.42 meters on his final toss to grab second at the championships. It was his second furthest-mark on the 2013 campaign only to his DC and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship record throw of 56.27m. The Defiance, Ohio, native will likely garner his second outdoor All-American honor from the toss, after earning the same status in the discus last season.
The Yellow Jacket will get back to the field tomorrow, Friday, May 24, where he will look to claim the national title in the hammer throw. Postema has held the top ranking basically all season long and will hope to hold on to that mark through one last competition. The event is slated to begin at 3:05 p.m.
