Postema's throw was his second-best effort of the 2012 season in the discus and earned five points in the team standings for the Yellow Jackets. Postema entered the event ranked third in the nation, after breaking the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships and Defiance College records in the event this year and will likely become DC's first All-American since Brad Zarembski (2010) and the fifth NCAA Division III Outdoor All-American in program history.
Postema will continue his showing at Nationals on Friday, when he competes in the hammer throw at 5:05 pm. The Defiance, Ohio native is currently ranked sixth in the nation in that event and could position himself for another All-American accolade with a top-eight finish in the finals.
