Krick Sets 3,000 Meter School Record at Taylor Invitational
UPLAND, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s track and field team competed in the Taylor Invitational on Saturday, February 6. The Jackets had several strong performances highlighted by Hayden Krick’s school record time in the 3,000 meter run.

The mid-distance athletes had a good showing in the meet, led by Seth Bidlack, who finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:00.69, marking the second-fastest time ever recorded by a DC runner in the event. Freshman runner Aaron Bronson finished right on his heels with a time of 2:00.88, ranking third all-time at Defiance.
The Jackets would see two more mid-distance athletes take top-three spots on DC's top-ten performances list as Issac Wilkins and Keiquan Blackmon finished the 600 meter run in 1:29.52 and 1:29.61 respectively for second and third place finishes.
Hayden Krick improved the school record in the 3,000 meter run by more than four seconds, crossing the line in 9:06.31 to pace the DC distance runners.
In pole vaulting, the Yellow Jackets placed three athletes in the top-ten. Austin Trivett led the way, clearing 4.45 meters for a third place finish, while Tyler Anderson and Dan Hardin-Wallace came in with fifth and ninth-place finishes respectively.
The track and field team will return to action on Saturday, February 13, when they compete in the All-Ohio Championships in Otterbein, Ohio. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
