Jackets Post Strong Performances at Taylor Invitational
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Yellow Jackets go a nice boost from the return of sprinter Aaron Demecs, and posted numerous strong performances at the Taylor Invitational on Saturday, April 24. Defiance placed seventh at the meet, garnering a total of 35 points on the day.

Demecs, who was set back due to injury for most of the outdoor season, finished fourth at the meet in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.76 in his second week back. The freshman runner also placed sixth in the 400-meter dash, coming in at 50.30 to place fourth in the HCAC this season.
Aaron Bronson had a good showing in the 400-meter dash as well, finishing in 51.96 to move into the ninth-place spot in the HCAC standings.
Thavez Jeter had a great meet for Defiance, placing third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.88 meters, which ranks fifth in the conference. Jeter moved into the top-five in the HCAC in the triple jump as well with a jump of 12.28 meters.
In the pole vault, Tyler Anderson led the way for Defiance, tying his personal-record to take first place at the meet with a clearance of 14-06.00 feet. The performance ranks Anderson second in the conference this season.
The Defiance College track and field team will return to action on Friday, April 30, when they travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, to take part in the HCAC Championships. The two-day meet is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
