Trivett and Zarembski Lead Jackets at Spartan Classic

Trivett had a career day for DC, highlighted by his long jump title. The Defiance High School product had a personal-record leap of 21-08.75 to take home top honors in the event, posting the best mark in the HCAC this season and ranking fifth in school history. Trivett also tied a personal-record in the high jump (6-04.25) on his way to third-place honors, while tying teammate Kyle Longsdorf for second in the pole vault (13-11.25).
Zarembski won the battle of the top two high jumpers in the conference, clearing 6-07.50 to defeat Indoor All-American Jon Kimmel. The Toledo, Ohio native recorded a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 19-01.75, while also placing sixth in the triple jump (38-01.25).
Justin Perkins had the only other top-three finish for the Jackets, crossing the line 4:12.75 to grab third-place in the 1500m. Jordan Weber tallied a pair fifth-place finishes, running a personal-best time of 16.10 in the 110m hurdles and leaping 39-01.00 in the triple jump.
Nic Neihaus placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 139-01.00, while Brian Badenhop ended up sixth in the 400m. Trey Harris finished sixth in both the 100m and 200m dashes, completing the 100m in 11.68 and the 200m in 23.68.
The Jackets return to action next weekend, April 24-25, when they will compete in the HCAC Championships on the campus of Rose-Hulman. The men will look to grab the school's first-ever HCAC title when events get underway on Friday.
