Harris, Hesterman Lead Way as Men's Tennis Takes on Anderson

ANDERSON, IND. - Ethan Harris (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll) and Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) picked up a duo of victories on the Anderson University tennis courts Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets battled the Ravens to a 7-2 defeat in the HCAC battle.

ANDERSON, IND. - Ethan Harris (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll) and Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) picked up a duo of victories on the Anderson University tennis courts Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets battled the Ravens to a 7-2 defeat in the HCAC battle.

Harris continued his successful freshman campaign, winning his number one singles bout 6-4, 6-4. The Huntertown, Ind. native improved his record to 6-8 overall in his young career.

Hesterman, on loan from the Defiance women's team, had a tougher road ahead in her battle at number four singles. The senior dropped the first set 6-2 before battling back to a 7-5 win. Ultimately, Hesterman soard to a 10-4 third set to pick up the win.

Jared Schnee (Bellevue) battled his Anderson opponent to a tight 6-3, 7-5 defeat in number two singles.

In doubles action Harris and Seth Mangas took five games in the number two slot, falling 8-5.

Defiance's record now stands at 2-12 on the season with an 0-7 mark in the HCAC. The Yellow Jackets will return to action with the season finale Saturday, April 27, at 11:00 am as they travel to Mount St. Joseph.
