Men's Tennis Continues Winning Form

Doubles action provided thrilling tennis for fans inside the George M. Smart Center. In number one doubles, Jared Schnee (Bellevue / Bellevue) and Ring Lardner (Milford, Del. / Milford) paired up for the third time in the young season. Finding the match score knotted at 8-8, the pair would need a 10-4 tiebreak to find their first victory of the season.
Ethan Harris (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll) and Micaiah Cox (Ft. Recovery / Ft. Recovery) made quick work of their Comet opponents in number two doubles. The Yellow Jackets duo grabbed an emphatic 8-1 win.
On the singles side of action, Harris improved to a team best singles record of 4-3 with his 7-5, 6-2 victory. Schnee battled to a 4-6, 6-1 scoreline before winning his contest in a 10-0 third set.
Seth Mangas picked up the final win for the Yellow Jackets, defeating his Comet opponent 6-4, 6-2, improving the freshman's record to 2-5 on the year.
After starting the season 0-5, Defiance has now won two in a row to improve to a 2-5 overall mark. The win wraps up the nonconference season for DC as they host Rose-Hulman and Transylvania in HCAC play on Saturday, March 30. Matches are slated to begin at 10:00 am and 4:00 pm respectively.
