Pair of Yellow Jackets Earn All-HCAC Tennis Honors

GREENWOOD, IND. -- The Defiance College men's tennis program had a pair of seniors acknowledged as members of the 2018 Honorable Mention All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference team on Tuesday.

Senior Adam Swisher (Bedford, Mich.) finished his year with a 7-12 mark in singles play, including going 2-5 in HCAC play in his final season with the Purple and Gold at the number one singles position. Swisher used a variety of partners as the season went on, finishing with a 6-13 mark at first doubles, as well.

Senior Eline Widman (Tiffin/Columbian) also finished the year with a 7-12 record in singles action, mostly from the third singles position. Widman earned one victory in HCAC play. Widman also finished with six victories in doubles play, five of them coming in the second doubles position with the sixth coming with Swisher at first doubles.

Swisher also earned a spot on the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team for the 2018 season.
