Yellow Jackets Celebrate Seniors in Contest with Hanover
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men's tennis team celebrated their three seniors, Eline Widman, Adam Swisher and Nathan Principe, this afternoon when they hosted Hanover College at the George Smart Center. The Yellow Jackets would fall 8-1 to the Panthers.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men's tennis team celebrated their three seniors, Eline Widman, Adam Swisher and Nathan Principe, this afternoon when they hosted Hanover College at the George Smart Center. The Yellow Jackets would fall 8-1 to the Panthers.
Defiance recorded their lone win at first doubles as Swisher and Widman battled to take the victory 8-6. At second doubles, Jared Schnee and Principe fell 8-3 while Ring Lardner and Micaiah Cox dropped third doubles 8-0.
In singles action, Swisher was outlasted 6-2, 6-4 before Schnee was routed 6-1, 6-0 at second singles. Widman recorded a 6-1, 6-0 loss at third singles while at No. 4 Principe fell 6-2, 6-0. Lardner and Cox logged 6-0, 6-0 losses at fifth and sixth singles respectively.
The Yellow Jackets wrap up their season with a 3-17 overall record, 1-6 HCAC. They earned wins against Heidelberg (5-4) on February 21, Shawnee State (6-3) on March 24 and Mount St. Joseph (5-4) on April 7.
