Defiance Tennis Outlasts Lions, 5-4
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men's tennis team recorded their third win on the season as they overcame HCAC competitor Mt. St. Joseph 5-4 this afternoon at the George Smart Center in Defiance, Ohio.

In doubles action, the Yellow Jackets went 2-for-3 as Adam Swisher and Jared Schnee knocked off the Lions 8-2 at first doubles before Nathan Principe and Eline Widman took second doubles 8-5. At No. 3, Micaiah Cox and Ring Lardner fell 8-0.
Swisher continued his momentum into singles play, where he was victorious at first singles, 6-3, 6-1. Schnee also took home a second win on the day, defeating his opponent 6-4, 7-6 (7-4 tiebreak) at second singles while Widman rolled the visitors 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3. Principe (7-5, 6-2), Lardner (6-1, 6-2) and Cox (8-1) would fall at fourth, fifth and sixth singles respectively, but it would be enough for the Yellow Jackets to take home the 5-4 win.
The Purple and Gold return to the courts on Wednesday, April 11 as they travel to take on Manchester University at 4:30 PM in North Manchester, Indiana.
