Yellow Jackets Struggle Against Fightin' Engineers
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The Defiance College men's tennis team suffered another loss this afternoon as they fell 9-0 to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at the Wabash Valley Tennis Center in Terre Haute, Indiana
The Fightin' Engineers started with a sweep of the doubles flights, taking first doubles 8-1 over Adam Swisher and Jared Schnee. Nathan Principe and Eline Widman were defeated 8-0 at second doubles while Micaiah Cox and Henry Brown fell 9-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Swisher would go on to fall 6-0, 6-0 at first singles as Schnee was routed 6-0, 6-1. At third singles, Widman was defeated 6-0, 6-0 and Principe would be knocked off 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Ring Lardner and Brown would wrap up the match with 6-0, 6-0 losses at fifth and sixth singles respectively.
The Yellow Jackets continue their schedule with the University of Saint Francis on Wednesday, March 21. First serve in the Smart Center is set for 10:00 AM.
