DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College men's tennis team hosted Hanover (Ind.) College in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play and fell to the Panthers by a final match score of 7-2.
Hanover (10-7, 4-2 HCAC) took an early 2-1 advantage over Defiance (7-10, 2-5 HCAC) after doubles play. The first doubles team of James Demeo (Oregon/Clay) and Adam Swisher (Bedford, Mich. /Bedford) secured the lone doubles win after defeating their opponent, 8-4.
In singles play, Hanover won five out of the six matches to secure the 7-2 match victory. Demeo recorded the only singles victory at the first singles slot after easily winning by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
The Yellow Jackets will play their final regular-season match of the season on Saturday, Apr. 30 in Franklin, Ind. against HCAC opponent Franklin (Ind.) College. The first serve is set for 10 a.m.
