Quakers Too Much For Jackets in HCAC Matchup
DEFIANCE, Ohio –The Defiance College men’s tennis team hosted Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference powerhouse Earlham College on Wednesday afternoon.
DEFIANCE, Ohio –The Defiance College men's tennis team hosted Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference powerhouse Earlham College on Wednesday afternoon. The Quakers entered the matchup with a perfect 3-0 conference record and an overall record of 10-1.
The Yellow Jackets played tough in the three doubles matches, as DC was able to claim a victory at the three doubles position. Senior Austin Gray and freshman Justin Walker teamed up to defeat Earlham by a score of 8-5.
In singles play the Purple and Gold were kept off the scoreboard as Earlham claimed victories at each of the six positions. With the loss, freshman Ryan Nelson had his six-match win streak in singles play come to a halt. The six consecutive victories were the most of any Yellow Jacket this season.
DC will be back on the courts on Thursday, April 5 as the Jackets host Central State in a non-conference meeting. The match is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
