Defiance Drops Match to Catholic in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Defiance College headed south to play several matches in Hilton Head, South Carolina during spring break and got the action started on Tuesday with a 6-3 loss to Catholic University.

The Yellow Jackets dropped five of the six singles competitions, with Trevor Ault providing the lone bright spot with his 6-3, 6-1 victory over Michael Reaney in the No. 4 singles match.

Defiance narrowed the gap with a pair of forfeit victories at the top two doubles positions, but fell 8-1 at No. 3 doubles and took the 6-3 team defeat.

DC (0-4) will be back in action in Hilton Head on Thursday against Millersville at 12:30 pm.
