DC Men's Tennis Opens 2010 Season With Pair of Losses

ALMA, Mich. – The 2010 season got underway for the Defiance College men's tennis team on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets suffered a pair of 7-2 losses in their matches with Adrian and Alma. Tyler and Trevor Ault led Defiance with the only two singles victories of the afternoon for the squad.

The action started early in the day with a showdown against Adrian. William Draur and Tyler Ault got things started with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, but the Bulldogs picked up the other two matches and took five of the six singles competitions in the 7-2 win over DC. Trevor Ault earned the Jackets' only singles win, topping Stanford Wilkenson 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 at No. 4.

The Ault brothers continued to spark Defiance in its match with Alma, as Trevor teamed with Austin Kleman for the squad's only doubles victory, 8-3 at the No. 2 competition. Tyler Ault then logged the only singles win of the second match for Defiance, as he took a 6-4, 6-4 win over Rob VanDorin at No. 2.

Defiance (0-2) will look to get in the win column on Saturday, when it plays at Baldwin-Wallace.
