Yellow Jackets sweep last HCAC Player of the Week Awards for Men's Soccer
CARMEL, Ind. – Defiance College men's soccer seniors Orry Killam and Adam Tobin swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Player of the Week Awards in the program's last week of competition in the conference.
Facing Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, Killam stopped all four shots he faced during a combined shutout and set the program's all-time saves record in the process. The Liberty Center grad was awarded his second straight Defensive Player of the Week Award and allowed just one goal over the final five games of the season. Killam leads all DC keepers with 429 saves, 13 shutouts, and 6046 minutes in goal.
Tobin earned his first Player of the Week award as the HCAC's offensive standout for the final round of regular season games. In DC's 8-0 victory over MSJ in the regular-season finale, Tobin tallied the first two goals of his college career with the game's first and final goal. He was the only player in the conference with multiple goals during Wednesday's action.
The Yellow Jackets' season came to a close on Saturday with a loss in penalty kicks to Transylvania, closing the chapter on the soccer program's time in the HCAC.
