Men’s Soccer Stifled at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Defiance College men's soccer team traveled to Rose-Hulman on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets lost by a score of 6-0 to the Fighting Engineers.
Rose-Hulman got out to an early lead scoring 3 minutes into the game. The YellowJackets would give up two more goals in the first half, giving the home side the 3-0 advantage going into halftime.
Late in the second half, the Fighting Engineers were able to tack on two goals before recording the final goal of the match in the 88th minute, giving them the 6-0 HCAC victory.
Sophomore Harrison Hirth (Lapeer, Mich./ Lapeer) started in the net for the Purple and Gold tallying nine saves on fifteen shots in 90 minutes.
Offensively, senior Adam Ordel (Lima, Ohio. / Elida) and junior Bennet Pack (Glasgow, Ky. / Glasgow) lead the Purple and Gold, each with a shot on goal.
The loss brings the Defiance record to 7-6-1 on the season, and 2-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Purple and Gold will be back in action on Wednesday, October 16th, as they play host to Anderson University for another HCAC matchup. The contest is slated for a 3:30 pm start.
