Killam Earns HCAC Defensive Player of the Week

CARMEL, Ind. - A week of conference wide recognition continued for Defiance Athletics on Tuesday as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced men's soccer freshman Orry Killam (Napoleon / Liberty Center) as HCAC Defensive Player of the Week. 

Killam mad an immediate impact in Purple and Gold as the freshman made his first two starts last week. Killam helped DC men's soccer to a 2-0 win over Trine before holding a strong Kalamazoo side to a 1-1 draw. 

Over the 200 minutes of action Killam tallied 16 saves, 13 of which came in the extra-time match with the Hornets. The Napoleon, Ohio native tallied an impressive .941 save percentage during the action.

The now 1-2-1 Yellow Jackets will return to action on Wednesday, September 11, as they host Olivet College at Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field. Action against the Comets will begin at 4:00 pm.
