Men's Soccer to See Plenty of Home Action in 2019
DEFIANCE, OHIO - The Defiance College men's soccer team will return to Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field 11 times in the upcoming 2019 season. The Yellow Jackets will open their season with the annual Purple and Gold Tournament on August 30 and September 1.
DEFIANCE, OHIO - The Defiance College men's soccer team will return to Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field 11 times in the upcoming 2019 season. The Yellow Jackets will open their season with the annual Purple and Gold Tournament on August 30 and September 1.
The annual season-starting tournament will see DC host in-state opponent Hiram College to begin the season before returning to action against Edgewood.
Defiance will continue a tough nonconference schedule with a road trip to Trine on Sept. 4 before returning home to battles with Kalamazoo on Sept. 7 and Olivet on Sept. 11.
DC will take to the road in four of the next five matches, seeing trips to Mount Union, Alma, Thiel and Heidelberg. In the mix of travel, the Yellow Jackets will host Geneva on Saturday, Sept. 21.
A home contest with Great Lakes Christian on October 1 will wrap up the nonconference season for Defiance.
An always competitive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule will begin at Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field as Franklin College pays a visit on October 5.
After a two game road stand with Bluffton on Oct. 9 and Rose-Hulman on Oct. 12, Defiance will begin a three game home stretch in the heart of the HCAC season. Anderson, Transylvania, and Manchester will each visit Defiance on Oct. 16, 19, and 23 respectively.
Southern trips to Mount St. Joseph on October 26 and Earlham on Oct. 20 will wrap up the regular season travel for DC. The Yellow Jackets will cap the regular season on Nov. 2, as they welcome Hanover College for Senior Day action.
