Men's Soccer Lands Trio on All-HCAC List
GREENWOOD, IND. – Three members of the Defiance College men’s soccer team were recognized by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for their performance this past season.
GREENWOOD, IND. – Three members of the Defiance College men's soccer team were recognized by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for their performance this past season.
Senior Christian Meister earned second team All-HCAC honors, while freshman Liam Hall was named honorable mention and junior Clay Musgrave to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Meister garners his first All-HCAC honor after appearing in 18 games with 14 starts for the Yellow Jackets this season. He finished the 2017 campaign with seven goals, four assists, two game winning goals and 18 points, ranking him fifth among the conference. The senior finished his career with 10 goals, five assists and 25 points.
Hall led the Defiance midfield this season starting all 18 games. The freshman recorded five goals and tallied seven assists ranking him second in the HCAC. Hall finished the season at the top in all categories among freshman in the HCAC. He also recorded a career-high two goals on October 4 to lift the Yellow Jackets past Bluffton.
In frame, Musgrave grabbed his second All-HCAC honor. The junior started all 18 games in goal recording 1,616 minutes of work. The junior recorded an HCAC leading 113 saves, allowing just 27 goals. He recorded six clean sheets and posted a .807 save percentage.
Defiance concluded the 2017 season with an 8-8-2 overall mark and 4-5 conference record under the guidance of head coach Jordan Valentine.
