DC Drops HCAC Contest to Earlham
RICHMOND, IND. -- The Defiance College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Earlham (Ind.) College Quakers in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

RICHMOND, IND. -- The Defiance College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Earlham (Ind.) College Quakers in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Quakers (2-9-1, 2-1-1 HCAC) hit the scoreboard just 3:17 into the contest on a perfect pass from Hunter Huber to Yuki Adam to give Earlham the quick 1-0 lead. The home team continued on the attack, outshooting DC, 9-4, in the opening half of play, but the Yellow Jacket defense hung tough to keep the lead at 1-0 at the halftime break.
Earlham continued to dominate the second half, garnering 17 shots compared to just six for the Yellow Jackets (6-5-2, 2-2 HCAC). DC keeper Clay Musgrave (Upper Sandusky) made five saves in the half, but the offense was kept stagnant as the Yellow Jackets dropped a 1-0 decision.
The Quakers outshot the Yellow Jackets, 26-10, overall and, 11-4, in shots on target, while each team committed 13 fouls apiece. Milus Sutton and Christian Meister led the Yellow Jackets with two shots each, while Musgrave wrapped up the contest with 10 saves for DC.
The Yellow Jackets will continue their four-game road swing on Saturday, Oct. 14 as they take on the Hanover (Ind.) College Panthers at 3:30 p.m. in Hanover, Ind.
