A four-year starter for the Yellow Jackets, Johnson played in 64 contests from 2007-10 while earning two HCAC Academic All-Conference selections and one Defiance College Classic Tournament Most Valuable Player award. The Monroe, Mich. native recorded three goals from his backfield position, and helped his team to recorDd eight shutouts during his career.
Johnson is set to graduate from DC in May, 2011, with a degree in molecular biology, and has maintained a 3.72 grade point average through over 90 hours of course study. He was recently honored at halftime of the soccer team's Senior Day game, where he announced his plans to continue his education in graduate school and then medical school.
Johnson's ESPN Academic All-District honor marks the fifth-straight academic school year that at least one Defiance College student-athlete has earned the distinction. DC has earned at least one ESPN Academic All-America award in each of the past four years entering the 2010-2011 campaign.
