Freshman forward Joshua Fullen recorded a hat trick in the game, increasing his season goal total to five. Fullen also recorded an assist in the game to tally seven points on the night.
Jacob Heiliger and Tony Cornell both scored a pair of goals for DC while Kevin Elson and David Crumley rounded out the scoring for Defiance with one goal each. Senior captain Greg Vogt led the Jackets with two assists on the night.
The Yellow Jackets will travel to Lexington, Ky., on Saturday, September 26, for their first HCAC competition of the season against Transylvania University.
