N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester College attack proved to be too much for Defiance, as the Jackets dropped a 5-0 decision on Wednesday, October 29. DC falls to 1-6 in the HCAC with the loss, while the Spartans move to 5-2.
Manchester scored three goals in the first 28 minutes of the match, as Ben Cole recorded one score and two assists in that span. The Spartans went on to score two more goals in the second period to cruise to victory.
Defiance had eight shots in the match, with five of those shots coming on goal. Josh Brumfield and Greg Vogt led the Jackets with two shots apiece, while Chris Chabowski, Tony Cornell, Matthew Johnson and Joseph Loftis also tallied a shot for DC. Mitch Livensparger took the loss for Defiance, surrendering all five goals while recording four saves.
The Jackets (1-15) will wrap up the 2008 campaign when they travel to Rose-Hulman on Saturday, November 1, for a 2:00 p.m. match.
