DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men's soccer team surrendered three first-half goals on its way to a 4-0 loss to Transylvania University on Saturday, October 18. The Jackets fall to 0-5 in HCAC play with the defeat.
An own goal in the first three minutes of the match as well as two other goals in the opening period proved too costly for DC, as the Jacket attack mustered just five shots. The Pioneers would go on to tack on their fourth goal of the match with just over three minutes remaining in the contest to round out the scoring on the day.
Chris Tabor led the Jacket attack with two shots, while Adam Collins, Matthew Johnson and Gene Snyder also recorded shots for Defiance. Freshman keeper Mitch Livensparger finished the contest with three saves.
DC (0-14) returns to the pitch on Saturday, October 25, when it hosts Mount St. Joseph for a 2:00 p.m. match.
