Men's Golf opens season at Quaker Fall Kick-Off

The Defiance men's golf team opened the 2021 fall season at the Quaker Fall Kick-Off on Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

• The event was hosted by Earlham College and took place at the Liberty Country Club in Liberty, Ind.
• The Yellow Jackets finished 10th out of 11 teams and shot a combined team score of 646.
• Thomas More University placed first at the event with a score of 584.

On The Course

• Sophomore Dan Burgoyne shot a 155 to lead the Yellow Jackets and tied for 23rd place out of the field of 68.
• Freshman Dane Harker finished just behind Burgoyne by shooting a 156 and tying for 26th.
• Freshman Spencer Clingaman tied for 38th after shooting a 162 in his collegiate debut.
• Freshman Kaleb Reiss finished the event with a score of 173, placing 58th.

• The Yellow Jackets next compete at the Polar Bear Classic with Round 1 beginning on Sunday, September 5 and Round 2 starting the next day on Monday, September 6.
