Men’s Golf Competes at the Ohio Cup

FINDLAY, OHIO - The Defiance College men's golf team competed as part of the Ohio Cup on Saturday finishing 11th of 14 teams. The 36-hole tournament was played at Red Hawk Run Golf Club. 

 Defiance shot a team score of 643 (317-327) strokes led by freshman Federico Gutierrez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) with a team-best score of 153 (77-76) strokes. 

 Freshman Diego Gonzalez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) finished second on the team with 154 (74-80) strokes, followed by freshman Werner Heinze (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) with 165 (81-84) strokes. 

 Senior Stephan Dolan (Painsville Twp.) registered a 74th place finish with 175 (84-91) strokes, while Oliver Thomas (Margaretta) rounded out the scoring for DC with 177 (90-87) strokes. 

 DC returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 11 when they host the Jon P. Spiess Invitational.
