Men's Golf Concludes Season with the HCAC Championship
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Yellow Jackets posted a seventh place finish in the nine team field at the 72-hole Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship hosted by both Franklin and Defiance College.
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Yellow Jackets posted a seventh place finish in the nine team field at the 72-hole Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship hosted by both Franklin and Defiance College.
Franklin hosted the opening 36-holes while the Purple and Gold played host to the final two rounds at Eagle Rock Golf Club.
Defiance finished seventh out of the nine team field with 1,258 strokes. Transylvania claimed its 12th straight title with a Conference best 1,158 strokes.
Senior Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) paced the way for the Yellow Jackets finishing the Championship with a team-best 303 (154-149) strokes.
Freshman Hayden Clingaman (Stryker) registered a 314 (153-161) to finish second on the team for the Purple and Gold, followed by senior Adam McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) in third with 321 (166-155) strokes.
Freshman Daniel Acosta (Torreon, Mexico/Gary Gilchrist Academy) completed the four day Championship with 323 (163-160) strokes, while junior Stephan Dolan (Painesville Twp.) rounded out the scoring for Defiance with 331 (166-165) strokes.
Spencer McKinney of Transylvania won medalist honors shooting a conference best 278 strokes.
The Championship concluded the 2017-18 season for the Yellow Jackets.
