Alex Miday Earns Second HCAC Golfer of the Week Honor

GREENWOOD, IND. -- Defiance College senior golfer Alex Miday used a season-best third place finish at the Jon P. Spiess Memorial Golf Tournament last Tuesday to propel himself into his second HCAC Golfer of the Week honor on Monday.

Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) shot a two-under par, 70, at Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon, which was good enough for third place overall in the tournament and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. After shooting a 37 on the front nine, Miday rallied to shoot a 30 on the back nine, a score that included three birdies and an eagle on the 16th hole.

Miday's score helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a third place overall finish as team, as they finished the 18-hole tournament by shooting a 308.

The Yellow Jackets return home for another tournament on Sunday, Sept. 24, as they head to Eagle Rock Golf Course for the Defiance Invitational.
