Tinsley Earns HCAC Player of the Week Honors

GREENWOOD, OHIO  --  Defiance College senior men's golfer Jake Tinsley (Eaton) has been selected as this week's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference "Men's Golfer of the Week."

Tinsley finished in a tie with teammate Derek Lucas with a round of 72 strokes at the annual Jon P. Spiess Memorial Tournament hosted by Defiance at Ironwood Gold Club in Wauseon, Ohio.  Tinsley was one of four Yellow Jacket players to finish in the top-ten as the team captured its second straight tournament title winning the Spiess Memorial by five strokes over Lourdes University.

At the end of the tournament, Tinsley finished in a tie for third individually.  It also marks the second straight week that a DC men's golfer has been selected as the HCAC Player of the Week. 

Defiance will next host the DC Fall Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 25 at Eagle Rock Golf Club in Defiance, Ohio.  The single-round event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
