DC finishes tied for sixth at home invitational
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Yellow Jackets improved one position on day two of the Defiance Invitational to finish tied for sixth. DC shot a 65-over, 625, at its home event at Eagle Rock Club.

The Yellow Jackets were seventh going into day two but used a fifth best score, 313, to propel themselves to sixth place.
Eagle Rock played 6,130 yards and a par of 70 for the weekend invitational.
DC was led by Zach Weber (Ottoville, Ohio / Ottovile) during the two day Defiance Invitational. Weber shot a matching pair of 76's on both Saturday and Sunday. His two day total of 152 was good enough to place him in 11th place for the weekend.
Teammate Mike Ross (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) was right on Weber's heels both days. Ross shot a pair of 77's for a two day total of 154. His 14-over for the weekend placed him in 13th.
Rounding out the scoring for DC was Jake Tinsley (Kettering, Ohio / Eaton) and Hurst Talbott (Columbus, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) who each shot an 80 on day two.
Tinsley edged out Talbott on day one, 79 to 80, to be DC's third scorer for the weekend. Tinsley ended with a +19 and Talbott with a +20 for the two days.
Derek Lucas (Eaton, Ohio / Eaton), Josh DeGroff (Stryker, Ohio / Stryker), and Rick Girona (McClure, Ohio / Otsego) all shot 82's on Sunday. Lucas finished tied for 41st with a two day total of 162. Shooting a 167 and finishing in 52nd was DeGroff. Girona knocked off five strokes in day two for a 169 finishing score, good enough to tie for 53rd place.
Ryan Edelbrock (Delphos, Ohio / Delphos St. John's) put together an 86 and 87 for a 33-over, 173, on the weekend.
DC will play again on April 26 and April 27 for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. Start time is set for 11 a.m. in Franklin, Ind.
