DC Men’s Golf Finishes 10th in second Outing of 2013
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s golf team wrapped up action Sunday, April 7 at the Hanover Invitational. DC finished with a second-round team score of 352 and a total of 686 for the two-day tournament.
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men's golf team wrapped up action Sunday, April 7 at the Hanover Invitational. DC finished with a second-round team score of 352 and a total of 686 for the two-day tournament. The Yellow Jackets finished in 10thplace out of 11 teams.
Junior Mike Ross recorded the best scorecard of the team for the second-straight day. The third-year golfer finished the second 18 holes with a round of 81. In total, Ross concluded the weekend action with a score of 158 that put him in 18th place individually.
The host Hanover Panthers finished the second day of play with a round of 312 and won the home invitational by seven strokes at a mark of 618. Northwestern Ohio scored a 625 to come in second. It held off Franklin College who recorded the best second round of any team with a 302. The Grizzlies concluded the event with 629 strokes.
The Purple and Gold will return to the links next Saturday, April 13 for the first day of the Ohio Wesleyan Invite. Tee times are set to go off at 1:30 p.m. at the Glenross Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
