Jackets Take to the Links at First Day of Hanover Invitational
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s golf team took part in its second competition of the 2013 season on Saturday, April 6.
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men's golf team took part in its second competition of the 2013 season on Saturday, April 6. The squad completed the first 18 holes of the Hanover Invitational with a team score of 334. DC currently rests in 10th place heading into round two on Sunday.
Junior Mike Ross was the lead man for the Purple and Gold on the afternoon. The Bryan, Ohio, native shot a round of 77, which is currently tied for sixth at the competition. DC's Alex Goecke also shot well on the links, by notching an 81 on the scorecard.
Hanover has the early advantage after day one of the invitational by shooting a score of 306 on Saturday. Trailing right behind in second was Northwestern Ohio at 315 strokes.
Defiance will return to play tomorrow Sunday, April 7 for the final day of the competition. Tee times are set to go off at 10 a.m.
