DC Golf Opens Spring Season at MSJ Invitational
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s golf team competed on the links for the first time in 2013, when it battled on the first day of the Mount St. Joseph Invitational on Saturday, March 22.
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Defiance College men's golf team competed on the links for the first time in 2013, when it battled on the first day of the Mount St. Joseph Invitational on Saturday, March 22. The Yellow Jackets currently sit in 13th place heading into round two on Sunday.
Leading the Purple and Gold through the first 18 holes was junior Mike Ross. The Bryan High product shot a round of 87 on the first day of action and is tied for 57th overall. Finishing only one stroke higher was sophomore Hurst Talbot.
Centre College leads at the invitational after scoring a team score of 298 on Saturday. The mark was a solid 15 strokes better than Mount St. Joseph who finished second with 313. DC ended the afternoon with a total score of 364.
DC will be back in action tomorrow Sunday, March 24 for the final day of the invite. Tee times are set to go off at 8:30 a.m. at Aston Oaks Golf Club in North Bend, Ohio.
