Men’s Golf Takes Seventh at Rose-Hulman Invitational
TERRA HAUTE, Ind. – Sophomore Mike Ross led the Defiance College men’s golf team to a seventh-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Invitational. The team shot 651 (320-331) over two days of action.

Ross paced the Yellow Jackets with a two-day total of 156 (77-79). He finished the tournament with a 12th-place finish. He ranked eighth in par four scoring and tied for sixth in pars with 22.
Senior Matt Gehring turned in a two-round score of 161 (84-77). He ranked tied for eight in par five scoring at -1 for the tournament. Senior Brian Jones was third on the team in scoring with a score of 166 (76-90). Freshman Hurst Talbott carded a score of 168 (83-85), while sophomore Josh DeGroff finished the scoring for Defiance with a total of 176 (84-92).
Centre College captured the team title with a score of 609 (304-305). Grant Hinton of Centre won medalist honors with a two-round total of 143 (71-72).
The next event for the DC is the first round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. Round One will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 28 in Hanover, Indiana.
