Gehring Named HCAC Golfer of the Week

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College senior Matt Gehring was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s golfer of the week. Gehring led the Yellow Jackets with a sixth-place finish at the DC Spring Invitational.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College senior Matt Gehring was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's golfer of the week. Gehring led the Yellow Jackets with a sixth-place finish at the DC Spring Invitational.

Gehring carded a round of 77 en route to the sixth-place finish, the highest of his career. It is the first time Gehring has won the award. On the season, Gehring is averaging 83.33 per 18 holes. In the last four rounds, Gehring has improved the average to 81.5.

The Yellow Jackets will return to the links on Saturday, April 14th in Terre Haute, Indiana for the Rose-Hulman Invitational. Tee times are scheduled to begin at 8:00 am.
