Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Hanover Invitational
HANOVER, Ind. – Sophomore Mike Ross led the Defiance College men’s golf team at the Hanover Invitational with a two-day score of 153 (79-74). The team posted matching rounds of 314 to finish with an overall team score of 628.

Ross finished tied for 13th in the field with his performance. Senior Brian Jones and freshman Hurst Talbott tied for 20th by shooting 156. Jones shot 77 for round one and 79 during day two. Talbott led the Jackets on Saturday with a round of 76, and followed it up with an 80 on Sunday.
Senior Matt Gehring posted a two-day total of 163 (82-81). Sophomore Josh DeGroff rounded out the scoring for Defiance with a combined score of 174 (87-87). Senior Jared James played as an individual for DC and carded a two-round score of 179 (92-87)
Transylvania University captured the team title with a two-round score of 578 (293-285). Clay Hinton of Transylvania won medalist honors with a score of 141 (71-70).
The Yellow Jackets will return to the links on Saturday, April 7 when they host the Defiance College Invitational at Eagle Rock Golf Club in Defiance. Tee times start at 9:00 am.
