Jackets Finish Fourth at Hanover Invitational
HANOVER, Ind. – Defiance College backed up an opening round score of 315 on Saturday, with a 319 on Sunday’s final round of the Hanover Invitational to take fourth place in the nine-team competition.

The team championship went to Transylvania after the Pioneers shaved 16 strokes off their opening-round score to rally past Mount St. Joseph. Transylvania (604) topped the Lions (614) by 10 strokes and Hanover (620) by 16. DC's (634) was good for fourth, while Thomas More (652), Manchester (652), Anderson (653), Wabash (662) and Rose-Hulman (678) closed the team standings.
TU's Clay Hinton claimed medalist honors by shooting a 69 on Sunday and carding a two-day score of 148 to edge his teammate Hunter Frazier and Hanover's Robert Bader by a single shot. Defiance's Brian Jones was next in line with a 151 to tie for fourth.
Jace Neal followed Jones for the Jackets, shooting a 159 to end in 24th, while Mike Ross took 29th with a 161 over 36 holes.
Defiance's next tournament will be on April 9 and 10, when it hosts the DC Invitational at Kettenring Country Club. Action will start at 9:00 am on both days.
