DC’s Neal Remains in Hunt at HCAC Men’s Golf Championship

Neal excelled on his home course, firing a 73 for the second-lowest round of the afternoon and his third-straight round with a sub-80 score. Neal used the steady play to stay within striking distance of the leaders with a three-round total of 228 and remains in position to earn All-HCAC accolades.
DC's Brian Jones also played well, carding his second 77 of the tournament to put himself into a three-way tie for 16th with a 238, while Jared James and Alex Goecke each finished with an 88 to end in 33rd and 34th respectively with totals of 257 and 266.
Transylvania continued its dominance of the team standings, shooting a 297 to take a 27-shot lead over Franklin heading into Sunday's final round. TU will enter the final day with a 900, leading Franklin (927), MSJ (938), Hanover (945) and Anderson (975) in the top five. Defiance (981) will look to jump back into the top five on Sunday and will need to gain six strokes on the Ravens, while Rose-Hulman (1,000) and Manchester (1,021) close the field.
The individual competition remains much tighter than the team race, with TU's Hunter Frazier (222) holding a two-shot lead over Franklin's Tom Moore (224). Justin Tereshko of Transylvania is in third with a 225, while DC's Neal is tied with Transylvania's Deuce Wall and Matthew Martin in fourth with a 228.
The fourth and final round of the 2010 HCAC Championship is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am on Sunday, at Kettenring Country Club in Defiance, Ohio.
